I think that the majority of the inhabitants that haunt the Omega forum are above average intelligence & seldom if ever take a wooden nickel. I suppose that is the reason the content is always as interesting as it is but the single most fact that I find refreshing is that there are no petty cliques vying for studism or some sort of distorted status due to the fact that they were not properly........

I've seen this type of franken many times. Dial from one model, case from another. It looks fine, but to a collector, it's wrong.........
Longines Certified Chronometer
Just managed to snag this one from the 'Bay. My understanding is that Longines didn't certify a whole lot of movements during the early 1970's. The serial number places this model in 1972.The movement is a cal. 6651, which is a derivative of the Ultra Chron 36K beat movements. This one beats a little slower at 28.8K. Some have speculated that chronometer version should have a gold trimmed roto........
My latest restoration
I have finally finished restoring the last Cushion Form that I own. It's a 1st. Generation, solid 14KWG, 986A movement and it's a plain case (both bezel and center case). According to Rene, only 1076 of these were produced, so I guess one would call this rare. Here are the before and after photos, see if you can tell which is which........
