• My Extraordinary Christmas Present!

  Some of you may have seen this post on another forum. If so, my apology.My wife had my father's watch restored for me. See the before and after pictures below. This is a 1952 Seamaster Calendar in 14 KT gold. The watch was restored at Omega in Bienne and took 13 months.   Just got this little jewel a day or so back. Love the detail of the 'dentil' trim effect and the 'sudo Curvex' shape. Bet I know what they were competing with. Great little runner, and it shows very little wear. Still need to polish it up but, it is in great shape for what I am guessing is a 40's vintage watch. Not sure yet of the exact year.   I'd like everyone's opinion here, I have an honest question and I'm looking for honest answers. Many of the watches that you see popping up on Kickstarter claim to be Swiss watches, presumably because they have Swiss movements inside the casing. But is that what makes a watch Swiss?
