Help dating vintage omega pre moon
I have a omega speedmaster with case # 145.012 , movement is a 321 and serial # starts with 265 . What I have found is that serial # is for 1968, but I thought in 1968 omega was using the 861 movement. I'm confused....so any info would be greatly appreciated. I found this watch in a storage unit I won at an auction. Also I'm sending it to USA watch service for cleaning and service so ill post pre........

I'll stack my self built, self serviced, self regulated omega 3135 movement watch (Datejust) against anyone's factory 3135 watch for accuracy in the 6 positions of dial up, dial down, and 4 on the side. Beat these numbers if you can !And someone around here said i should leave it to the professionals, Well stick these picture where it would be uncomfortable for you naysayers.............
Date adjustment at 5.30?
Hi guys!I was told by my AD to set the watch at 5.30 (am or pm) first, if I want to change the date. The reason, when asked, is because at that position, the movement's gears and springs are free and sort of 'less tensity'.How true is this? I understand the logic of those positioning, only that I dunno how correct is the position would be.Thanks!........
