  A good friend of mine has a Datejust he inherited from his father. It's a 1984/86 model, TT. He wants to sell it to me for $1200. If I get it I will have to send it in for service and this will more then likely run me another $600-800. I've seen the watch and it seems to be in good condition.   I am thinking that I would like to add to my collection a watch that I didn't have to wind and set before wearing and so was thinking of a quartz. But I was struck with the thought that a Seiko Kinetic would also fit the bill. If I am correct, once fully charged they will run for years without further charging, yes?So I am after suggestions.
