• Overhaul Question

  Hey all, I've got a buddy who has a 2264.50 whose battery just died. He sent it in to his jeweler to have the battery replaced and they suggested he have it overhauled. I'm familiar with the need to overhaul automatic or manual watches (I've to a 2254.50 and a 3570.50) but I don't know what is involved in overhauling a quartz watch, besides replacing the seals. Could anyone give me some advice ........

  Last night I went to manually wind the watch and while turning the crown I felt it slip and next moment it was just clicking while turning the crown. Very disappointed and so far this watch has had some internal part break about every 3 years. I don't know if it is these base 2824's that get mass assembly or this particular watch is break prone.
