  I am curious about a historical point of Submariners. Years ago when my father purchased his first Explorer it came on a leather strap, now of course it comes with an oyster bracelet. Has the Submariner always came with an oyster bracelet? Were there options in the early days? It seems I met a guy one time who was into vintage Subs, and he told me that they came with a bracelet and a leather or ru........

  Seiko SSA179 Automatic I see it listed at two sites as Hardlex and sapphire at others, wondering if it is Sapphire.Seiko web site has it listed as sapphire. • Ventura help please

  Apologies if this seems a blatantly stupid question but here goes. I've always loved the Ventura and decided to track one down. Starting with the Hamilton site there seems like there are only a few models (I'm guessing they only show current models). The problems start with model numbers ie some sites pics don't match serial numbers. Cutting a long story short I've tracked down model no h24451........

• Troubleshooting ETA 251.272 Quartz Chrono

  My quartz chrono with an ETA 251.272 quartz 22 jewel movement does not work properly. The only functions that work are the timer (large second hand) and the split 1/10th second timer. I put a battery in it but that didn't help. Can this be a result of a weak battery (even though its supposed to be new), or does it need a new circuit board or should I just replace the entire movement?........
