• Incoming: Speedmaster Mk40 Day/Date - 3523.50.00

  I just snagged this one off eBay! It's the Omega Speedmaster Day/Date 3523.50.00 sometimes referred to as the Mark 40. I owned one of these before, and always regretted selling it.. This one appears to be in better shape than my first one, so I guess it worked out for me in the long run!! It should be here by the first of the week, and I'll post some photos when it arrives. • A Seiko 6139 in my collection....

  Finally bought my first automatic chrono. Found this little one in an antique shop today and couldn't resist. The movement is complete and functioning, just in need of cleaning. Buttons stick, but release with minimal pressure. Boy am I psyched on this!!!........

• Early omega Movements Compared to Omega?

  By 'early' in this context I mean 1930-40s Swiss movements.I've been looking over LOTS of photos of old movements from these two companies and can't see any functional differences...in spite of the VAST difference in price.Did Swiss standards at the time mean that major companies were compelled to use the same movements with only aesthetic differences?........
