• What does "water resistant" really mean?

  I had a Citizen chrono that was stamped "Water Resistant 100M", I had it for 8 years, splashed around in the Atlantic ocean one weekend, no diving, barely submerged, and a few days later it stopped working, I though it was the battery. Took it to two jewelers and they said water got into the case through the chrono buttons and damaged the movement, est $360.00. I said "but it say's water resistan........
